                                                        BRITISH  TRADITIONS

CHRISTMAS PUDDING

Another popular English tradition is that of the Christmas cracker

These brightly coloured paper tubes  are still widely distributed at Christmas parties and gatherings today. When two people come together to pull the cracker apart, it releases a loud snap and then drops a small trinket or gift.

Here is the Queen's Christmas message 2011 (lots of British people watched it on TV )
The Queen has used her annual Christmas Day broadcast to speak of courage and hope in adversity.

A new pupil : Bridgette from Australia!

Bridgette is fifteen years old .She comes from Brisbane  in Australia. She has decided to spend 6 weeks in France to discover our country , to improve her French (she has been learning French for two years) , to meet new people and learn more about the French way of life and have fun !!

Last Monday we listened to Bridgette's presentation on Brisbane: she talked about her city, her family  and her school. It was very interesting! Here is the video (a part of it)

Bridgette talked about her timetable:
Bridgette's timetable

  •  "My timetable is very different , we start at 8:30 am every day and finish at 3:15 every afternoon.

I study 8 subjects , these include : French, English , Mathematics , Science , Religious Education , Enterprise Education (business) , Sport , Social Science (history and geography) and Careers. Our lessons go for 45 minutes and we usually have each subject 4 or 5 times a week.
We also have 2 breaks in our timetable, which are called morning tea and lunch. We can eat at both of these breaks, however we can't go home. For lunch you can either buy food from the pantry ( = canteen) or bring tyour own lunch.
Overall , while school in Australia is very demanding it is also very fun ! "

why is English so useful?

Yes ? Why ?!!

Some of you said that it was useful to travel, get a job ,play video games ,etc
Not to mention to save lives !!!
